FAQ

Is it 30 or 60 days visa-free now?

Since 15 September 2026 the 60-day exemption has been revoked for all countries, and travellers from the 60 listed countries get up to 30 days. If you entered earlier, you can stay until the date in your stamp. Details are in our answer on visa-free stays.

Do I need an onward ticket to enter Thailand?

Immigration can ask for proof of onward travel within 30 days and 20,000 baht per person. In practice checks are random, but you can be refused entry without them, and airlines may ask for an onward ticket at check-in. See our onward ticket answer.

A site is charging me for the arrival card. Is TDAC paid?

No, TDAC is free and is only filled in at tdac.immigration.go.th, within 3 days before arrival. A site that asks for payment is a copycat. Our TDAC answer shows how to spot the official site.

Is there a 300 baht tourist entry fee?

Not as of October 2026. A single THB 450 fee is under discussion but still needs cabinet approval, and claims of an exit tax are not backed by official documents. Details in our tourist fee answer.

Can I bring a vape or IQOS to Thailand?

No, e-cigarettes and heated tobacco devices such as IQOS have been banned from import since 2014, with no exception for tourists. According to the UK Foreign Office, in practice vapes are confiscated and fined, usually THB 5,000-30,000.

Will my foreign bank card work at Thai ATMs?

Visa, Mastercard and UnionPay cards issued abroad work at Thai ATMs and terminals. Each withdrawal carries a flat fee charged by the Thai bank, shown on screen before you confirm, and your own bank may add its own. Always choose to be charged in baht.
