From Suvarnabhumi Airport
The Roong Reuang Coach stop is on Level 1 at Gate 8, next to arrivals. Buses to Pattaya bus station leave at 07:30, 09:30, 11:30, 13:30, 15:30, 17:30 and 18:30 for 135 baht. Buses to Jomtien bus station run hourly from 06:00 to 22:00 for 158 baht; the 22:00 departure only goes as far as Pattaya bus station. According to the airport, Bor Khor Sor also runs a Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya route from 06:30 to 21:00 for roughly 140-190 baht.
Everything for arriving passengers, including U-Tapao Airport near Pattaya, is in the Pattaya airport guide.
Train from Bangkok to Pattaya
In the SRT timetable, daily ordinary train 283 (fan-cooled carriages with a toilet) leaves Hua Lamphong at 06:55 and reaches Pattaya at 10:34. The fare is 31 baht for 155 km. Return train 284 leaves Pattaya at 14:21 and gets to Hua Lamphong at 18:15. The same table lists express 887 (06:45, arriving 09:13) and return 888 (16:26) without a “daily” note or a fare, so check the running days with SRT before you travel.
The train suits you if you want the cheapest ride and are in no hurry. With heavy luggage or children, the bus is easier: it is faster and runs more often.
Taxi and private transfer
At Suvarnabhumi the taxi counter is on Level 1 between Gates 4 and 7. According to the airport, a 50-baht surcharge is added to the meter, passengers pay expressway tolls, and Department of Land Transport rules let you agree a fare in advance for long trips. The AOT meter scale is 35 baht for the first kilometre, then 6.50 to 10.50 baht per km. On that scale 122 km to Central Pattaya comes to about 1,120 baht before traffic time; that is our calculation, not a tariff.
AOT Limousine, the airport’s official limousine partner, quotes from 2,700 baht to Pattaya. We have not checked private transfer companies: before paying, compare what the price includes (tolls, waiting time, a child seat).
