Maenam is a beach and subdistrict on Koh Samui’s north coast, west of Bophut. The subdistrict belongs to Ko Samui district of Surat Thani province, and the whole island is run by one city municipality. It had 10,811 registered residents in December 2025.
Koh Phangan lies across the strait to the north, and Lomprayah catamarans head there from Pralan pier in Maenam, where the company also has its office (26/61 Moo 4).

The Treasury registry lists 7 residential condominiums with issued unit titles in Maenam subdistrict: Nerich Chaweng and Nerich Lifestyle, Aventa, Baan Praeprao, two Replay buildings and สมุย ลิฟวิ่ง พาราไดส์ (names transliterated from Thai). The median valuation is 50,550 THB/m², with the middle half between 25,000 and 51,050. Two buildings pull the lower end down: สมุย ลิฟวิ่ง พาราไดส์ (22,400) and Baan Praeprao (25,000).
The valuation is used for taxes and fees when a sale is registered; it is not a sale price. Seven buildings are too few for firm conclusions: one new valuation would move the median noticeably. Shops. OpenStreetMap shows 11 places within 2.5 km of the beach as of 17 October 2026: 9 shops (Lotus’s, Mini Big C, 7-Eleven, Family Mart) and 2 markets, one in the morning and one at night. Addresses were checked against the map only.
Transport. Lomprayah catamarans to Phangan and Koh Tao from Pralan pier. The airport is 9.5 km away. The Raja ferry from the mainland docks at Lipa Noi, 24.8 km. We found no official songthaew routes and do not publish any.

By Lomprayah catamaran: the company has an office and Pralan pier in Maenam, with boats to Phangan and Koh Tao. Timetables and prices are on the operator's site, where prices change dynamically. The Raja car ferry to Phangan runs from Lipa Noi, about 1 hour 30 minutes.
Is there a hospital in Maenam?
There are no licensed inpatient hospitals in the subdistrict (HSS as of 31 July 2026). The nearest private one, Bangkok Hospital Samui, is 8.2 km away, about 10 minutes; the public Koh Samui Hospital near Nathon is 18.8 km.
