The Phi Phi Islands are in Krabi province, about 40 km from Phuket by sea. You can go on a day tour that includes Maya Bay, which our Phi Phi from Phuket page covers with tour prices, or on your own by scheduled ferry or speedboat from Rassada Pier. This page is about the second option. Times and fares are taken from the operators’ sites on 25 October 2026; Andaman Wave Master says its schedule and period of operation may change without notice.

By ferry
Andaman Wave Master (TAT licence 34/00549) runs the ferry daily. From Rassada Pier to Tonsai Pier it takes 2 hours: 08:30 to 10:30 and 13:45 to 15:45. The standard class costs 700 baht for an adult and 600 baht for a child, first class 1,000 and 800 baht, premium class 1,300 and 1,100 baht. Round trips are 1,200, 1,800 and 2,400 baht for an adult. The ferry to Leam Tong Pier (Laem Thong Beach, where the operator lists the Phi Phi Natural, Erawan, Outrigger, Holiday and SAii resorts) takes 3 hours and costs 800 baht for an adult.
The ferries back from Phi Phi leave Tonsai Pier at 11:00 (arrive 13:00) and 14:30 (arrive 16:30), and Leam Tong at 10:00 and 13:30 (3 hours). For a return from Leam Tong the operator asks you to confirm the trip with your hotel reception at least a day ahead.
By speedboat
Andaman Wave Master’s speedboat takes 1 hour from Rassada Pier to Tonsai Pier and costs 850 baht for an adult and 650 baht for a child. It leaves at 08:30, 11:30, 12:30 and 13:30, and the boats back leave Tonsai at 09:00, 11:00, 14:30 and 15:45. Bundhaya Speed Boat lists the same crossing at 1 hour from 800 baht per person all year; we did not check its departure times.
Which pier in Phuket
Both operators list Rassada Pier on the east side of Phuket. The national park’s own page, which is older and carries no date, gives the Phuket piers as Chalong and Ao Makham, about 40 km and 1.5-2 hours by ferry. Operators and piers change, so look at the pier named on your ticket.
National park fee
Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Leh and Bamboo Island are in Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park. The DNP fee table of 2 June 2023 gives foreigners 400 baht per adult and 200 baht per child on those islands, and 200 baht and 100 baht elsewhere in the park. The operators’ timetable pages do not say whether the fee is in the ferry fare, so ask when you buy and carry cash for it. Tours that include the fee are described on our Phi Phi page.
One day on Phi Phi by ferry
- By speedboat: leave Rassada at 08:30, arrive at Tonsai at 09:30, take the 15:45 boat back (arrives 16:45): about 6 hours on the island
- By ferry: arrive at 10:30 and take the 14:30 boat back (arrives 16:30): about 4 hours on the island
Maya Bay is not on this route. It lies on Phi Phi Leh, an uninhabited island visited on day tours, and it has an annual closure from 1 August to 30 September; Time Out reported that it reopened on 1 October 2026, with swimming still banned. From Phi Phi to Krabi or Koh Lanta
Andaman Wave Master has a daily ferry from Tonsai Pier to Klong Jilad Pier in Krabi Town at 15:30 (arrives 17:30, 450 baht for an adult). Its Phi Phi to Lanta ferry runs from December to March, and Bundhaya lists a Phi Phi to Lanta speedboat from 700 baht all year. The details are in Krabi to Koh Lanta and Phuket to Krabi.

Does the ferry go to Maya Bay?
No. The ferries and speedboats on this page go to Tonsai Pier or Laem Thong on Phi Phi Don. Maya Bay and Pileh Lagoon are on the uninhabited island of Phi Phi Leh. Maya Bay has an annual closure from 1 August to 30 September (the park announced it in 2023 and Time Out reported the 2026 reopening on 1 October, with swimming still banned).
