Where Blue Tree is
Blue Tree Phuket is in Cherngtalay, Thalang district, on Srisoonthorn Road: the official address is 4/2 Srisoonthorn Rd. It is in the north-west of the island, not far from Bang Tao beach: 5.7 km by road, about 11 minutes (OSRM, 18 October 2026). It is 19.5 km and about 23 minutes to Patong, and 20.4 km and about 25 minutes to Phuket airport.
We could not find a temple called Wat Katok near Blue Tree. OpenStreetMap shows, within 2.5 km of the complex, the Buddhist temple Wat Choeng Thale about 800 m to the west, a Taoist shrine and a mosque. If someone gave you that landmark, check it on a map against the address above.
Is the lagoon open
No. The Blue Tree Lagoon, opened in August 2019, closed permanently on 1 August 2024. This is reported by Phuket101 (page updated 28 September 2026), Thai Holiday Guide (review of 5 October 2026) and a Thailand Stuff review, and Wikipedia notes the permanent closure in 2024. The complex’s official website, bluetreephuket.co, does not mention a lagoon or water park at all.
As for the lagoon site itself, Phuket101 says it stands empty: a wellness project has been mentioned, but nothing has been built there yet. Old ticket listings and reviews online still show water park hours; that information is out of date.
What is open now and when
According to the FAQ on the official site, the complex is open every day from 06:00 to 23:00, and each tenant keeps its own hours. What is on site according to the site and Phuket101:
- Shops, cafes and restaurants. Retail, food and beverage, services, offices and wellness studios, including a 24-hour gym (UTime) (complex website)
- Parking. Over 900 spaces (complex website)
- Community Park and Skate Park. (complex website)
- Immigration office and language school. Both are on the premises (complex website)
- Adventure Village. An indoor play centre mentioned by Phuket101; we did not find it on the official page, so check its hours and age rules with the centre
- Forest park trails and padel courts. Also from Phuket101
No entrance fee is listed on the site. To check the status of any venue, write to info@bluetreephuket.co or the “Blue Tree Phuket” Facebook page.
What to choose instead of the lagoon
If you were looking for a water park or a lagoon with children:
- Splash Jungle in Mai Khao. Slides, a lazy river and a kids’ zone. Check its status for October 2026; details in the Splash Jungle guide
- Andamanda in Kathu. The island’s other large water park. Per Thai Holiday Guide of 5 October 2026 it is open, with the park zone running 10:00-18:00 and Emerald Forest until 19:00. Each slide has its own height and weight limits
- Calm beaches from November to April. The list and conditions are in our guide to calm beaches in Phuket
- Phuket Aquarium on Cape Panwa. For days when the weather is wrong for the sea, see the aquarium guide
For a comparison by age and weather, see our excursions with kids.
Rain and heat
The complex is laid out as an open village, so you walk between venues outdoors. By TMD norms (1991-2020) October in Phuket brings 336 mm of rain and 22.7 rainy days, so bring an umbrella for walks around the site. On a hot day step into the cafes and shops: we did not check air conditioning in each venue.
Safety and children
- The road along Srisoonthorn is busy; a child under 6 needs a car seat in a private car (rules in our guide with kids)
- The lagoon is closed, so there is nowhere to swim on site: for swimming with children go to a beach
Who it suits and who it does not
- Suits anyone looking for cafes, shops and a community park in the north of the island. Open 06:00-23:00 with over 900 parking spaces
- Suits families with children for an hour or two. If Adventure Village is open, children will have something to do; check before you go
- Not for those who come for the lagoon or slides. The water park has been closed since 1 August 2024
- Not for those who want an excursion. It is a retail village and public space, not a day route
