Rider licence
A scooter of any size in Thailand needs a motorcycle licence: category A on your national licence plus an international driving permit (IDP), or a Thai motorcycle licence. Category B is not enough for a bike. The partner also asks for a passport with a valid visa or entry stamp.
Per the partner terms, bikes are not insured against theft and accidents: the renter is responsible for the bike. Before renting, open your travel policy and look for clauses on motorcycles, licence category and helmets: it may exclude such cases.
A helmet is required for the rider and the passenger, with a fine of up to 2,000 baht (Land Traffic Act, sections 122 and 148). Traffic keeps left. The alcohol limit is 0.5 g/l, and 0.2 g/l for drivers without a licence or with the wrong category.
Refundable deposit $1,000, the partner accepts several currencies. The partner may ask for your passport as security: for motorcycles of 400 cc and up and for some smaller models, such as the MT-15 and ZX-25R. We advise agreeing on a cash deposit instead: you may need your passport for the police or immigration.
You sign the rental contract with the partner, not with Thaipedia. We take your request and pass it to the partner. Before paying, ask for a written contract with the repair price list, deposit terms and insurance terms.
You need category A plus an IDP, or a Thai motorcycle licence. Without the right category the fine is up to 1,000 baht, and after an accident the insurer may refuse to pay. Details in our guides on licences and traffic rules.
Can I rent it for a week or a day
The partner rents out vehicles from 3 days. For short rentals the guide price is ฿3,000 per day (partner price as of 26 August 2026). For a month the price is usually better than 30 days at the daily rate.
How does hotel delivery work
Delivery is paid. Give your hotel or area in the request and we name the amount and time. If you prefer to collect it yourself, say so in your wishes.
