What to choose
- A group of two to four people with luggage arriving late: a minivan or Grab
- One person travelling light, a hotel on the west coast: the Smart Bus
- You live on the island for a month or longer: take a taxi to your hotel and order a car or bike with delivery, so you do not hunt for a desk at night
- You need your own car on arrival day: at night almost all airport desks except Europcar are closed, so book ahead
Licence, insurance and deposit for a car rental are in the guide to car rental in Phuket, and a bike needs category A, with details in which licence a bike needs.
